Matthew Perry, the star of 'Friends,' has passed away at the age of 54 due to an apparent drowning

Matthew Perry, the actor known for playing Chandler Bing on 'Friends' in the 90s, has passed away at 54. He was found dead in a Los Angeles home on October 26, and there were no drugs at the scene. It was reported that there was no foul play, and paramedics were called for a cardiac arrest.

Besides 'Friends,' Matthew Perry appeared in many other TV shows like 'Boys Will Be Boys,' 'Growing Pains,' 'Silver Spoons,' 'Charles in Charge,' 'Sydney,' 'Beverly Hills, 90210,' 'Home Free,' 'Ally McBeal,' 'The West Wing,' 'Scrubs,' 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,' 'Go On,' 'The Odd Couple,' and more. He also acted in various comedy films, including 'Fools Rush In,' 'The Whole Nine Yards,' 'Three to Tango,' 'The Kid,' '17 Again,' 'Getting In,' and others.

Despite his on-screen cheerfulness, Matthew Perry struggled with addiction, particularly to painkillers like Vicodin, which led to multiple rehab stints, as reported by TMZ. He shared his challenges in a memoir released last year, where he discussed his weight fluctuations during the 'Friends' show.

Matthew never married but had a brief engagement that ended after only six months.
