Fredrick Ogidan, the Corps Commander formerly overseeing the Kwara State sector command, has been relieved of his position following a controversial statement made at a public event.
According to a report by Premium Times, Ogidan, during a ceremony conferring the Special Marshal title on AbdulRaheem Oladimeji, the Founder of Al-Hikmah University, remarked on the impact of fuel subsidy removal on his command's operations.
He expressed, "The subsidy removal has increased our budget and limited our movements, which has affected our operations.
However, the good news is that the issue is already receiving attention and a necessary response from the headquarters. Very soon, we are expecting an increase in our finances following the assurance from the Corp Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu."
Sources have informed the publication that Mr. Ogidan has been "recalled to the national headquarters of the commission."
It was further noted that "the FRSC management views the comment as an act of indiscipline, contrary to the organization's code of conduct and regulations on the maintenance of discipline."
