Sheikh Aminu Daurawa Takes Decisive Action Against Misconduct within Kano State Hisbah Board
In a significant move to uphold the fight against immorality and social vices in Kano State, the Hisbah Board has taken strong action by dismissing one of its commandants who was found to compromise and sabotage the mission.
The Commandant General of Hisbah, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, made this announcement to the press on November 7, revealing that the board is also actively investigating the conduct of five other officers.
He explained that the dismissed official had been involved in colluding with individuals engaged in unholy activities within the state, thereby obstructing the efforts to maintain morality.
Daurawa emphasized that upon assuming his role as the Commandant General, he immediately initiated a campaign to cleanse the board of any undesirable elements. He expressed that the organization has undergone a transformation and is no longer the same as it once was.
He stated, "We have removed a Deputy Superintendent of Hisbah (DSH) from his position and declared him a wanted individual. We urge the authorities to arrest and prosecute him wherever he may be found."
Daurawa further elaborated on the dismissed officer's misconduct, indicating that he had regularly collaborated with hotel operators to evade scrutiny from Hisbah during its operations.
Additionally, the Hisbah Board has categorically refuted claims made by a Facebook user who alleged that its personnel had forcibly cut the hair of a non-indigenous individual using a bottle after raiding a brothel in the state.
Daurawa dismissed these allegations as the work of mischievous individuals and confirmed that Hisbah had identified the person responsible for posting the video. The suspect will be summoned to substantiate his claims, ensuring that the truth is revealed.
