Governor Uzodimma Affirms Imo Gubernatorial Election as Conducted with Freedom, Fairness, and High Credibility

The Imo State governor and All-Progressives Congress candidate in the state's gubernatorial election, Hope Uzodimma, asserted that the ongoing elections in Imo State are unfolding in a manner characterized by freedom, fairness, and credibility.

After casting his vote at his polling unit in Omuma within the Oru East Local Government Area, the governor expressed his observations to journalists regarding the election's proceedings.

He noted the apparent enthusiasm among voters in the queue, emphasizing the joy they were expressing. Uzodimma commended the orderly conduct of the election, highlighting the straight queues and the absence of interference, stating that there was no indication of potential disorganization.

The governor expressed his satisfaction with the impressive voter turnout, attributing it to his hometown's influence, quoting the proverb that a prophet is recognized strongly in his hometown.

Uzodimma praised the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for their effective deployment and the orderly environment, contrary to negative expectations.

Addressing recent reports of insecurity in Imo State, Uzodimma clarified that some individuals in politics are dedicated to serving the people, engaging in discussions with the public to understand the ground realities. In contrast, others resort to fabricating stories on social media to confuse the public.

He asserted that Imo State is a peaceful destination and emphasized that the election is progressing freely, fairly, and credibly.

Uzodimma presented the ease with which he cast his vote and the efficient processing by INEC as evidence that the good-natured citizens of Imo State are committed to its prosperity. He called on those sponsoring mischief, banditry, and criminality in the name of politics to repent of their actions.
