In Arigidi Akoko, Ondo State, tragedy struck as a 62-year-old retired teacher, Mrs. Iyanuoluwa Adamolekun, fell victim to unknown assailants who took her life.
The unfortunate incident occurred at her residence in Similoluwa quarters on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, where her lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood.
The grim discovery was made by her granddaughter, who returned from school that day and raised an alarm, prompting concerned neighbors to rush to the scene.
As of the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding her sudden death remained shrouded in mystery.
Contrary to speculation suggesting ritualistic motives, a resident named Justice Ayebogan refuted such claims.
However, it was revealed that the assailants not only took the life of Mrs. Adamolekun but also made off with her phone and box.
Mr. Rotimi Adamolekun, the grieving son of the deceased, expressed shock and disbelief, describing his mother as an easy-going, religious, and caring woman. The family, grappling with the tragedy, has deposited the corpse at the morgue, and the case has been reported to the police for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this heinous crime.
