"Emefiele Granted Bail, Released by EFCC"

Former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, was released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama granting him bail on Wednesday, November 8.

According to The Nation, after Justice Olukayode Adeniyi granted Emefiele bail, EFCC operatives withdrew, allowing him to be accompanied by his legal team and relatives. They guided him from the courtroom to a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) stationed at the court's main entrance.

Reports suggest that during the court proceedings, some onlookers who were dissatisfied with his bail decision might have posed a threat to Emefiele.

The former CBN Governor appeared visibly concerned, even asking his lawyers if he could be reapprehended by the EFCC.

As he descended from the courtroom on the third floor to the ground level and entered the waiting vehicle, certain individuals from the crowd shouted accusations at him, but with the help of his lawyers and family members, he was swiftly ushered into the car, which belonged to one of his legal representatives. The vehicle then promptly left the court's premises.
