The Rivers State House of Assembly recently took a significant step by issuing an impeachment notice against Governor Siminalaye Fubara.
This momentous decision was reached during a session presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Martins Amaewhule, with the participation of a majority of the lawmakers.
Notably, Hon Edison Ehie, the Leader of the House, and those who remained loyal to the governor faced suspension.
A total of 24 out of the 32 lawmakers lent their signatures to the impeachment letter, signaling a substantial majority in favor of this action.
They have since instructed the clerk of the house to deliver the impeachment notice to Governor Fubara.
This development marks a pivotal moment in the political landscape of Rivers State.
