APC Strongly Objects to Purported UK Protest Against Tinubu

The UK Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership has expressed its strong disapproval of an upcoming protest against Bola Tinubu in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Tunde Doherty, who serves as the Chairman of the UK Chapter and also holds the position of Chair of the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen, addressed the planned protest in a statement released on November 3, from Lagos.

Doherty conveyed their concerns regarding the protest, stating, "We have become aware of the intentions of this group to organize a protest in London, during which they plan to make baseless allegations concerning President Bola Tinubu's educational qualifications."

He continued, "We firmly believe that our duty is to address this matter and emphasize the importance of relying on verified facts rather than premature and unsubstantiated accusations. President Bola Tinubu, a seasoned and distinguished statesman, boasts a long and illustrious history of serving our great nation. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the betterment of Nigeria and its people."

Doherty further noted, "The allegations of forged certificates not only lack concrete evidence but also undermine the essence of democracy and the values of fair political discourse that we hold in high regard."

The chairman assured that APC diaspora leaders stand firmly in support of Bola Tinubu. He urged those planning to participate in the protest to consider the potential repercussions of disseminating unfounded allegations and misinformation.

"In the spirit of constructive dialogue and unity," Doherty encouraged a more constructive approach to addressing concerns or grievances related to the leadership of the nation. He emphasized, "Let us engage in respectful, evidence-based discussions that promote progress and uphold the dignity of our great nation."

He extended an open invitation to individuals with legitimate concerns, encouraging them to engage in meaningful and well-informed dialogues with them. Doherty stressed their belief in the power of informed, collaborative, and fact-based solutions to propel the nation forward.
