Tinubu's Journey to Riyadh: Participation in the Saudi-Africa Summit

 


President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on an official trip from Abuja to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, commencing on Thursday, November 8. The purpose of this journey is to participate in the inaugural Saudi-Africa Summit, which is slated to transpire on Friday, November 10.


According to his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu will use this summit as a platform to emphasize Nigeria's unwavering commitment to attracting increased Foreign Direct Investment and expanding business partnerships. These efforts align closely with the ongoing domestic economic reforms that have been spearheaded by his administration.


The inaugural Saudi-Africa Summit aims to facilitate collaborative endeavors in various domains, including political coordination, regional security concerns, and the advancement of economic transformation through research and the development of innovative energy solutions. Simultaneously, the summit will encourage cross-sectoral investment cooperation.


Accompanying President Tinubu on this important journey are several key government officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar; the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman; the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun; the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Bagudu.


In addition to these ministers, the delegation will include prominent figures like the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Mallam Jalal Arabi. Together, they will represent Nigeria on the global stage and engage in discussions aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with Saudi Arabia and other African nations.
